Southern Crescent Solutions has started a vehicle wrap design project for one of our clients. The client offers pool cleaning services and products. The canvas is a large box truck. The traveling billboard will be seen all over the Atlanta and we’ll be targeting women in the home as the primary decision maker for pool services.
In this project, we are utilizing a number of techniques to insure maximum marketing impact. This includes an innovative vehicle wrap design, the use of a QR code, and the setup of a custom landing page. It is also important that the website we will be driving traffic to is optimized for smart phones.
Our client wants a bikini clad woman on the side of the truck. While that may be appealing to a certain audience, the design must appeal to the mother of the home. We will include large call to actions that charge prospective customers to call or visit the pool service website.
I saw a Roto-Rooter truck this morning with an amazing vehicle wrap. I was disappointed not to find a QR code on the truck. Why would this be so important? A prospective customer is sitting in a restaurant today with a window view of the street. They have a smart phone next to them with a QR code reader. They have a drain at home they always seems to get clogged. A large Roto-Rooter truck is sitting in traffic in front of the restaurant. This is a prime opportunity to encourage the prospective customer to scan the QR code and be taken to a mobile friendly website that includes a custom landing page. I was walking down the sidewalk when I saw the Roto-Rooter truck. I may have scanned a QR Code if there had been one present.
We are including a QR code on the side of our client’s box truck. We are also setting up a custom landing page that prospective customers will be taken to upon scanning the QR code. The box truck design and landing page must compliment each other. We don’t want to lose the prospect along the way. A consistent message is a must. The final detail regarding this project is in testing the landing page. It must be mobile website friendly. Remember, the prospect is most likely scanning the QR code from a smart phone. If we then take them to a page that is difficult to read, then we may lose them.
Our client is spending thousands of dollars to have the design created and applied to the side of the truck. The utilization of a QR code and landing page provides the business owner with a powerful tool. Traffic to the landing page will be measured with web analytics software. The landing page will be used exclusively with the box truck and QR code. Our client is positioned to be able to calculate exactly how much traffic came in to his website as a result of using the QR code. That’s powerful! We want our client to see a return on his vehicle wrap investment.
