website development

We’ve been covered up with appointments in 2012. So many businesses are contemplating new marketing techniques and new strategies that create leads for their businesses. Our challenge at SCS is to help these businesses to generate results quickly. Unfortunately, planning for 2012 starts in 2011. It’s difficult for a business to see instant results…good marketing doesn’t work that way. It involves persistent introduction of a businesses’ brand over time.

So where does a business start at this point with its marketing…

1. I always recommend the establishment of a website as a base. It’s difficult to imagine any business today that doesn’t have a website that represents them well. However, there are so many small businesses that continue to rely poor performing websites to be the first impression a prospect sees when considering that business.  Your website is an investment…not an expense. Your business may require special tools in order to perform your services. Consider your website another tool. Don’t think of your website as only a lead generation tool. Consider it as a business closer tool. In this day and age, prospects want to know that you are legitimate and still in business. What does your website say?

2 Consider going mobile with your website. Statistics suggest that up to 50% of website traffic today is from a mobile device. Yes…this is another thing to consider regarding your website. Your website should be able to discern from a traditional desktop computer visitor and a mobile phone. Ask your website development company if your website can do that. If so, your website designer should assist you in simplifying your website in order to view on a smaller screen. If that works too, then your on your way to appealing to 1/2 of your traffic.
